Typical Piedmont’s wine for excellence, it has been lately revalued thanks to a good work in the vineyard which has enhanced its quality. The Alfiere is commercialized two years after its harvest.

Wine: Barbera d’Asti D.O.C.G.
Vine: Barbera 100%
Area of production: The grapes from which this wine is derived originate in the hills surrounding San Damiano d’Asti‘s dominant Alfieri Hills. These grapes are harvested from very old vines which have a low but high quality yield.
Refinement: 18 months in large oak barrels and tonneaux.
Color: Intense ruby red with light garnet reflections.
Bouquet: Fruity and spicy; are evident hints of toasted vanilla, chocolate, prunes and sweets.
Best when used: 3-10 years after harvesting.
Suitability: It is an important wine which demands important dishes such as tagliolini with meat sauce, red meats, braised beef, goat’s cheeses or aged Castelmagno.
How to serve: To be opened and aerated in a carafe one hour before consumption at a temperature of 18-20°C.
