Castelnovello Monferrato Rosso D.O.C.
The Novello is the first wine of the new harvest to be sold; the law requires a selling starting date in the first days of November in the same year of its harvest.
Clusters of healthy grapes, small containers collection and carbonic steeping vinification give this wine characteristics of freshness and fresh fruit that no other wine has.
Wine: Monferrato Rosso Novello D.O.C.
Vine: 60% Freisa, 40% Barbera.
Area of production: The Freisa grape is cultivated in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, while the Barbera is cultivated in San Damiano d’Asti.
Refinement: Not applicable.
Color: Ruby red with hints of violet.
Bouquet: Floral but above all fruity with hints of fresh red fruit.
Flavour/Aroma: It is a less tannic wine, with low alcoholic content, very mellow fresh and light.
Best when used: By the next spring.
Suitability: Particularly suitable to chestnut based dishes, grilled red meats, boiled salami or very rich soups such as the bagna caoda of Piedmont.
How to serve: Immediately after opening in goblets at a temperature of 16-18°C.
