DECANTER WWA 2019 AWARDS TERRE DEI SANTI WINES, ONE MORE TIME
The Decanter World Wine Award 2019, one of the most prestigious international competitions, has awarded three Terre dei Santi wines:: l'Albugnano DOC, L'Alfiere Barbera d'Asti DOCG e il Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco DOC Spumante!
This year, the competition judges have awarded the Albugnano 94/100 points, recognizing to our Nebbiolo a place among the best Nebbiolo wines in the international scene, worthy of the Silver Medal!
For the Albugnano DOC, 100% Nebbiolo grape aged in oak barrels, this recognition represents a further step forward on the road to the international appreciation. In fact, in the previous two editions of the DWWA, 2017 and 2018, our wine had been awarded with the Bronze Medal. This year's result further elevates Albugnano, recognizing it the status of a great Nebbiolo wines of Piedmont.
The Alfiere Barbera d'Asti DOCG aged in oak has been awarded the Bronze Medal, 88/100 points. It is a result that gratifies us and rewards the quality of the grape and of the work of our farmers in San Damiano d'Asti, Asti Province, a land which has always been vocated to excellent Barbera grapes.
Yet, that's not all!
The competition jury also has given 88/100 points to our Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco DOC Spumante sweet, awarding it the Bronze Medal as well. A prize that acknowledges the quality and the richness of a wine much loved by the public, for the intensity and the freshness of its unmistakable aromas and for being easy to drink, in many different occasions.
In short, 2019's rich medals collection is added to the awards of the past, a number of prizes that show how the work done in the vineyards by our members and in the cellar by our winemakers is a high quality work , which places Cantina Terre dei Santi among the top producers, not just in Italy, but even internationally.
Of course, a great satisfaction, but not as much as satisfying every day the most important and demanding judges: our customers.
